National Class Wines Double Gold's, Gold and Silver MedalsCarmela VineyardsIdaho's winery owned by an Idaho resident, is gaining nationwide recognition as a producer of fine wines. Currently our wines are winning Double Gold's, Gold and Silver Medals in wine competitions throughout the country. Our varieties include Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Cab-Merlot, Semillon, River Mist, Johannisburg Riesling, "Bodacious" Meritage (red). All of our wines are made with 100% Idaho Grapes. Our wines are found in fine restaurant and wine outlet stores throughout Idaho and at farmers markets in the summer. Silver Medal Winning Wine 2006
(This wine is made with 25% Lemberger grapes and 75% Chardonnay grapes. It matches well with picnic style food, hot spicy foods, and barbecue sauces.)
(A sweet blend of premium grapes make this a delightful tasting experience. A flavorful full bodied sweet red wine, with hints of cranberry and black cherry. Goes good as a hot mulling spice wine for fall and winter.)
White Wines
(Estate grown and aged in oak barrels, this light crisp fruit wine pairs well with seafood, pastas, and salads.)

(This wine exhibits a rich buttery, oaky and fruity flavor to balance our richest and most complex white wine which makes it a perfect match for seafood.)
Red Wines
(Our blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon & 50% Idaho Merlot produces a red wine with rich plum & ripe berry flavors)
(This variety of grape is used in France to make the Bordeaux red wines. Oak aged, intense blackberry, with a spicy finish. Great match with spicy food.)
2007 Silver Medal Winner
(A blend of four Bordeaux red wines Cabernet Franc Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec. This delicate blend has sophisticated tannins and lots of black fruit.)
(Velvety Smooth, ripe berry flavors with a wonderful Milk chocolate finish.)
Bronze Medal Winning Wine 2006
(This Idaho Pinot Noir has a delicate chocolate and tobacco nose, rich color and a long finish with hints of oak.)

Carmela Vineyards uses only Idaho grapes.
The unique combination found in Idaho's vineyards consistently produce grapes
with outstanding varietal character. Our high elevation (ranging up to 2600 feet
above sea level). extra long hours of daylight during grape ripening, cool
nights, ungrafted vines, volcanic ash soils all contribute to producing grapes
with concentrated fruit flavors and naturally high acidity. This produces wines
with perfect balance and rich and distinct flavors.
